Budapest to Host 19th Edition of Athletics World Championships: Schedule and Broadcasting on France Télévisions
The 19th edition of the Athletics World Championships is set to take place in Budapest from August 19 to 27. Marking the return of athletics to the city, the Hungarian capital is gearing up to host the global event once again after a wait of twenty-five years. The previous significant athletics event hosted by Hungary was the 1998 European Championships, during which French athlete Christine Arron made her mark by clinching victory in the 100m race and setting a new continental record.
Following the 2017 edition held in Doha, Qatar, and the 2022 edition in Eugene, USA, the World Championships are now back in Europe, serving as a crucial milestone for athletes just one year ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympics.
In the previous edition, Kevin Mayer salvaged France’s performance by securing a gold medal in the decathlon on the final day. This year, the spotlight is on French athletes including Rénelle Lamote (800m), Cyréna Samba-Mayela (100m hurdles), Just Kwaou-Mathey (110m hurdles), Benjamin Robert (800m), and Azeddine Habz (1500m), all of whom are expected to make a strong showing.
